Just my opinion but I believe that Naismith, McAvoy and Forrest are totally out of their depth at a club the size of Hearts. As somebody said at the game today “I think we’ve just found the management team for the hotel” I think he could be right.
Tactically destroyed today by Kettlewell with team of journeymen players.

Do we really need to keep looking at the Japanese and Australian market for players. Oda and Tagawa (both on long contracts) were terrible today couldn’t cope with the pressing game of Motherwell and the physical side of the game. Atkinson and Rowles don’t look happy playing in a back 4. Both looked much better when we changed to 3 at the back. Lowry also struggled with the pressing game and the physical side.
Offiah not in the squad today, rumour is he collapsed in training, possible heart problem. Yet to be confirmed by the club.

Its pretty depressing stuff, at least there is a break now, if things dont pick up after they have time to work then its not looking good for Naismith.
My biggest worry is that we seem to try to solve the defensive problems by having more defenders (3 at the back) and solve the attacking problems by having 3/4 up front, we used Shankland, Boyce, Oda, Vargas, Lowry , Tagawa and arguably Forrest in forward positions at the weekend. It almost feels like they end up getting in each others way, they dont make runs becuase there is someon already there, and we have 4 players static and easy to defend against/
The glaring issue is the midfield though, we seem to have attacking players and defenders, but very few who can link the 2. So we have a defensive line, a gaping hole then an attacking line. If this was NFL we would be great.
Beni is the obvious one who can make a difference, but we need to look again at Grant and get Hoff back involved. It is pointless them being here if they arent going to play.
Naismith also talked about energy and lethargic feelings, in which case why is he not making changes? If it is energy, then Halliday will give us that, Tagawa looks like he will run all day, Vargas too. Lowry is undoubtedly got a bit of quality, but like Barry he doesnt bring a lot of workrate.
It just looks like we are doing the same things, with the same players and expecting a different result.

I missed the game as I was airborne but I checked the scoreline and assumed it had just frozen at 0-1 and we'd be okay by the time we landed. Stupidity on my part.
We probably could not have picked an easier set of opening fixtures - using the month it would supposedly take to get up to full speed to dispose of a few relegation-threatened diddy teams before going into the harder games with a bit of confidence. After winning in Perth, we've made a complete arse of it. I'm dreading what's going to happen over the next set of matches.
I'm going to need some convincing that this management team is up the task and they've got some tough tests ahead of them which already look like must not lose games. I'm not optimistic.
