From what I've seen this season, mainly highlights, the Villa game and one game at Tynecastle, I fancy Hearts to win this one. Hibs defence still looks a weak link ( Hanlon and Stevenson still going I see! ) and despite having attacking options I feel the narrower pitch at Tynecastle will stifle the wide attacking threat along with a stronger Hearts back line. When I used to watch these games I always got the feeling that a number of Hibs managers failed to get the team as up for the Derby compared to the Hearts lads so will be interesting to see how Montgomery approaches his first one..............there is always the argument that he shouldn't have to get the players up for these games of course. Anyway, leaving for South Shields now where I hope the weather is better than here in Edinburgh..............any chance the game will be called off? Good luck to both sides and hope it's a good game.......but it is an Edinburgh derby.

Probably going to be a pitch inspection, been raining all night and still heavy this morning.

I'm almost hoping its called off as the pitch will be pretty much saturated with plenty more falling on it as MTS says. It isnt going to be good to watch if it goes ahead.

Gave up my tickets for this, Hibs will pump us today. 38 years and I never been this disintrested in Hearts. Board needs a shake up and Naisy needs to go.
I have 4 season tickets and it cost me near £100 every time we vist Tyne. Enough is enough for me. I hope we win today, but I just can't see it, we have nothing to offer up top imo.

Forrest has obviously reacted to the criticism from EK and me. Good for you for taking our comments on board wee man. What a finish!! 2 weeks in a row - why didn't you guys rip into him during the pre-seaon games??? Seriously, I felt he was worthy of his place on effort, now he is scoring goals he's maybe going to be invaluable?

I was applauding Sibbick for his no nonsense defending - and then he moved into the middle after Kingsley got injured and for one minute his defending was a complete nonsense. Hard to accept Hibs scoring two in a game we completely dominated but I suppose we've done that to them so many times they were maybe due one. Disappointed but not gutted. Uglies next up...

First of all it was a fine game of football and 3 points to me in the predos too. However its now obvious that Naisy isn't upto the job. We played some lovely stuff going forward, especially in the first half, but that seems to be just window dressing for the overall organisation, or lack of.
The same old failings as the past 5 or 6 years. Deservedly in front at the break they came out afterwards with a negative mindset and immediately started sitting in. I saw the danger signs right away. Immediately after the 2nd goal he took off Lowry who was linking with and prompting the forwards. Then after conceding he panicked and took off two of the three most energetic players in Vargas and Devlin who were still full of running and again brought on defence minded replacements. Im surprised that he left Forrest on tbh.Tactical suicide on so many levels.
Kudos to Forrest who was terrific. Rowles was better until the last 15 minutes when he was back to his dozy worst. Beni is far from up to speed yet and how Grant wonders about lack of game time is astounding.
Finally Collum. What a prick. Every challenge in a Hibs player was a foul yet holds, barges, tugs and trips on hearts players were played on. Shanks was fouled from start to fiish and did not receive one single free kick from the wee gnome all day.
I won't be at the Septic game as I expect that our predictable passive tactics will be ruthlessly punished. What position will were in a month or so from now? I shudder to think.
