Not a huge golf on tv fan, but I watch the Open coverage voraciously....love it. That and the Masters are the only tournaments I'll follow. The Ryder Cup leaves me cold as it's too manufactured I reckon, the European part of it doesn't excite me. I'd rather still be playing as Britain and Ireland like the old days

Nice to see a couple of Scots still near the top of the leaderboard even though the 2nd round has yet to be concluded

Lawrie blew it big style with that double bogey on the 17th and the Yorkshire lad drove out of bounds on 14th (shocking shot) to throw his chances away too - I guess that's what sorts out the men from the boys, except two of the leaders are mere boys (Spieth and Dunne). The movers ripped the course apart yesterday and it will be fascinating to see who's nerve holds today. I reckon any one of 30 players could win it, including Harrington who has been fecking useless for about 3 or 4 years and Johnston who always fecks up in the last 2 rounds, but I fancy Spieth, Day and Oosthuizen aren't at the top of the leaderboard by accident and my outsider would be Garcia. Like most people, I would love an amateur winner and there's another amateur apart from Dunne sitting at -9 so the silver medal is still up for grabs if Dunne falters. I am going home early to watch it.

Paddypower offering me £37 to cash out my £4 each way bet on Louis, and £5.90 for my £3 each way bet on Rose - they're obviously quaking in their boots!!
Anything can happen though - especially if the weather turns a bit nasty again as is forecast.
Canny wait to get sat on ma comfy chair wi a couple o' cold beers to see me through the afternoon - bring it on!

Not saying I want it to or hope it does but maybe Dunne will awake out of this dream he has been in for the last 3-4 days later today and the pressure will get to him. Spieth on the other hand already has 2 majors under his young belt and knows what it takes to get the job done. I too fancy Paddy to do well today as he also has been in this position a few time in his carreer. I would like Spieth to win just to see if he can go all the way this year and have the greatest year ever in golf. If he can't do it then young Dunne would be a terrific story too.

Here's me rubbishing Johnson and he goes and birdies 6 of the first 10. Oozy misses a sitter which could be the end of his chances. Garcia and Day hanging in there. Dunne? He's not even the leading amateur FFS!
Edit: Spieth, Day and Adam Scott just one behind now. Birdies will be like gold dust coming home apart from the 18th maybe - so it could be last man standing if the rain and win kick in again. Should be an exciting finish! Scott just got a share of the lead...

Pearl Diver on Sergio at 22's put on today. He's hanging on in there but could do with a couple of birdies to put the pressure on

Tipped Louis at 2.30pm must have jinxed him! Had hoped for a Sergio win though

ach it's a lottery betting on the golf but it's good to have a bit of interest. 100/1 shot should have no chance in any walk of life but in golf these players are more than capable, their price comes from their current form which means jack really!!
Quality tournament and we only have to wait 3 weeks for the final major of the year. Get your tips out!!

Well I'm spewin'!!!
Just before leaving work to go home and watch the final round, I had a flash of inspiration and stuck £2 on Leishman at 50/1 to win (he was 3 shots behind the 3rd round leaders at the time).
The upshot was - I had 2 guys out of the 3 in the playoff (also had Louie originally), either of which would get me another £100+ winnings, and wee Zack steps up and spoils my night!!
Can't take it away from him though - he was excellent in the playoff.
Great entertainment and excitement right to the bitter end - one of the best Opens ever in my opinion (even though my winnings were substantially reduced!).
Roll on the next major!
