I dont get Fletcher getting a game before the thumb. I mean, I loathe the digit but he can score goals. Some one needs to explain to me why Rhodes doesnt get a look in with Scotland, he scores for fun.

I'm also surprised Mulgrew is at left back considering the roasting he got there against Malmo.

The Germans must be shitting themselves...
...or mibees that should be pishing themselves.
I'd settle for a 3-0 pasting right now.

Really Interesting ruling in NI game. Player commits foul but ref plays advantage then same player fouls again and ref gives him a yellow for each foul and a red. Ive never seen that before. I like to think i am very up on the rules of the game but i really dont know with that one, i know you couldnt do it in an employment situation. I have often had an employee offend while waiting for a discipline for something else. In that case you cant make the second offence accumulative on the first.

Not seen the incident but it sounds like when the ref waved play on for the advantage he must have intended to book the guy when play next stopped...if the same player then committed a second bookable offence before the ball went dead then I'd say the ref got that right

If the first foul is a booking and advantage played then the card can be shown later. So sounds ok to me rules wise but a nonsense when you consider that a yellow card is supposed to be a warning.
Rhodes up front is a good shout. Griffiths doesn't offer an out ball and I can't see fletcher scoring at all tbh. Need a ball holder who can also finish.

Thats the whole point. The first yellow is supposed to be the warning. If you do that again your off. . If you havent had the warning then.......... Although to be honest the second tackle could have been a straight red

Willie Collum will be writing that into his "how to give a red card book" don't think you can appeal if it's 2 yellows.

Certainly in Scotland yoou cant but if the referee is outwith the rules, MAYBE somethng csn be done. I dont know. May have to have a wee dig into the rule book and find out.

I'm assuming Rhodes doesnt get picked because he doesnt normally play a lone role up front. I cannot think of any other reason why he wouldnt start. I also think there is a wee possibility that Strachan has it in for the thumb. He is a better goal threat than Fletcher surely.
