I asked my Kenyan friends for tips on long distance running and the best tip seems to be take lots of drugs.

I think 2 goats , 6 chickens and a piglet might do the trick Simmy.

Sorry, I misread the thread title. Thought it said "Runrig, all in the head". Was gonna post some Donnie Munro classics. Then I realised, despite sharing a surname, me and Donnie are poles apart. Maybe I was right first time round and they actually are "all in my head"

Ran in my first race yesterday 5k at Inverleith Park. my App had the time at 26.40 however I started the clock when I was standing waiting to cross the start line and the first KM was a bit crowded so I am claiming a sub 26 minute 5k. Felt great through and really pleased with how things went
Upped the training levels this morning, introduced a weights programme which will be twice a week a long with at least 1 spin class a week. need to make sure I get through the festive period relatively unscathed from all the eating and drinking I will be indulging in!

Morning Gents, as you all know I am in training for the Half Marathon on the 29th of May and I am raising money for the MS Society. If you fancy donating to help me get to my fundraising target. Here's the link www.justgiving.com/Chris-Sim1if any of you use Strava to track your runs or cycles I am on there too and you can see my progress. Training is going really well and I've lost a ridiculous amount of weight which was part of the reason why I am doing this Anyway, thank in advance and i'll keep you posted with how i'm getting on

Seen that come through BT, Thanks very much. Appreciate that. Limbs and joints all intact so far but the distances are starting to increase rapidly

I did the 20K of Brussels to prove to myself that at 40 I wasn't passed it. Did okay for my first and only run (1.43). Watch your build up as it is easy to overdo it. I did my knees the weekend before the race.

nice one
I'm following a plan just now which has plenty rest days. My last run was 6.5m on Monday and my next run will be today but in between I have had some cross training and weight training
