Really good picture taken from the Dunbar end in May 1966 according to the Scotsman. Kinda explodes the myth about big crowds back in the day

If the Derby is in May in the 60s it must have been the East of Scotland Shield, league games were usually played around Sept and New Year and were well attended.

No myth Maroon. I was at a derby with my uncle (a Hibbee) at Easter Road around '69,70,71. Place was hoachin'. We were stood up on that elevated part of the terracing right at the back. Regular games against the Clyde's and Mortons and Airdrie's etc were not supported that well though. I forget what the crowds were really like at Tynie when I went to a lot of home games in the early '70's. A guess would be and average of 10-12,000. But that is only a guess.
