I know that, generally, most of the people on this site have always wanted Hearts and Hibs in the same league but, on the evidence of the past week or so, can anyone really doubt that the derbies are missed? People scrambling for tickets, loads of media and internet bampot coverage, a thrilling 2-2 draw and people so fired up that even calm, sensible, intelligent people like erm K19 was firing off an email to the club complaining about the Hearts tv coverage.
So, admit it, Stubbs might be an arsehole and Fester Road may have a zillion empty seats and the Hobos may all be tramps and big-game bottlers - but we ALL miss the derby games, don't we? Let's hope Hibs get promoted this season!

Wait a minute K19, the only bottles crashing yesterday were from the home team.
This Hibs team is a different beast now, Stubbs team are not like Hibs from the recent past.
Oh and officially yesterday's match was the 2nd highest turnout at the PBS this season, the highest was Hibs v St Johnstone so you ken where you can shove your empty seats debate.
Yeah you hooked me, but we love the Derby and hopefully we join you next year back in the top flight to get our fix back more regularly.

So dav. The only point you are not arguing is that Hobbits are tramps then?

I am not a fan of the derby. Havent been for some time but must confess that I havent felt such anticipation pre match as i did for this game. My view on derbies, especially in the past 10 years or so has been that we expect to win, when we do it is no big deal (cup final aside) but to lose is the end of the world. For me derby matches had become a no win situation for Hearts. And, I suspect , but may be very wrong, that (again cup final aside) Hibs fans havent been hurting as much at losing them.
This Hibs team appears to have more bottle than so many of it's predecessors so perhaps we can go back to them being footballing wars and enjoyable encounters again.
