Bit of a curveball for a football site but tomorrow there's gonna be a street collection before our game against Celtic for the campaign to raise £100K to help keep the doors of Gorgie Farm open. It's a fantastic facility and I recently took wee Katie (my granddaughter) along. She loved it and I was able to take her across the road to Tynecastle and she loved that too. It's part of the fabric of our end of the town, I'm hoping the collection tomorrow is a big success

What is it Maroon? Is like a petting zoo where the bairns interact with the animals etc?

If you can't make the game you can also donate at GORGIE FARM

It would be nice if the club could offer some kind of donation as well. I take my boys there a lot would be a great miss if it had to close.

It would be a great miss also for the volunteers at Gorgie farm. They have a lot off disabled people and people with learning difficulties who can't get a regular job go along and help out.

The target they are looking to reach is £100k, now I know that's a lot of money but in the grand scheme of things surely it's worth making the effort to raise it ?

I remember when that went in, used to be a row of tenanments on Gorgie Road too, all demolished. I used to take my nephew there to feed the farm animals, all good stuff. I hope they can raise the funds to keep it open.
