Have a good day Fred and don't go kicking any cats, that's bad luck. Love Cheltenham. But I don't go nuts, usually have small bets, for interest. Here are my day 1 tips, for what they're worth ... 1:30 - I'm going for Ballyandy, but watch out for WP Mullins runners. In particular, Crack Mome and Cilaos Emery. Another one to note is the moody Labaik. 2:10 - This should be a penalty kick for Altior, and although I think it will win, I'd leave at odds of 1/4. Each way alternative would be Forest Bihan. 2:50 - Tough. My choice is Ibis Du Rheu. Might be worth taking an each way interest in A Good Skin and Vic De Touzaine. The Druids Nephew could be there abouts too. 3:30 - Despite some high profile call-offs, this is still a quality field. Favourite Yanworth is my selection. Moon Racer and The New One are worth noting. Wicklow Brave might be worth 50p each way at big odds. 4:10 - Apples Jade for me in this one. The odds available on favourite Limini are too short for my liking, and Vroum Vroum Mag has been well supported. Lifeboat Mona has each way value. 4:50 - Going for Bigbadjohn here. A Genie In Abottle and Beware The Bear have chances, but at shorter odds. Haymount is a Mullins runner who could be worth an each way punt at 18/1. 5:30 - Darts at the ready for this one. It's favourite Foxtail Hill for me. Captain Redbeard and Double W's have chances at decent odds. Deans Road at 25/1 could be worth another 50p each way. Parkie. Disclaimer: It's no ma fault if anybody backs ony o these and they get gubbed !!!

Well the jockey on Ballyandy was all over the place and got the horse into all sorts of trouble, but I had a wee e/w flutter on Labaik, who decided to take part and romped home at 25/1.

Shouldn't this thread be under Other "sports" with eggchasing & patball?

Forest Bihan never figured in the second race, but Altior did win at short odds, although not as easily as expected.
