In comparison to what I witnessed last night , Scottish football is absolutely rubbish. I watched Toronto V Atlanta (a brand new expansion franchise) last night and some of the football was amazing. Ended up a 2-2 tie but the passing and movement were incredible at times. Something that Scottish football lacks in spades. If I can find it I will post a link to the goals. How can a new team in an already established league be tipped to be a contender and we (Hearts) flounder from season to season changing players ad-infinitum with no real progress? (Money I suppose) OK. I take some of that back over the last couple of years we have made great strides in general but there can be no doubt we are on the downward slide on the pitcjh at the moment with no signs of it being arrested. You could argue the whole league is in a similar position but I only give 2 fecks about one team!! Just needed to vent a bit.

They maybe do the same as Beeb does to us over here. Very few of their links will play for us . Likely due to licensing agreements.

Some good goals much faster game on that surface. What on earth was the keeper doing at that first goal.

Aye he fucked that one up. The last goal was an SPFL special too. Lump it forward for the player to run on to it. Toronto's first was special though. That we boy who scored it is on about $7million a year. Rules us out fae signing him . Eh?

Back in the day ek. No doubt. Today you would trip , fall and break a hip coming of the line to narrow the angle!

Cheers Bobby, the MLS is for me a decent league, far cry from the 0-0 when I say the San Jose Earthquakes play 12yrs ago, unlike the SPL the MLS has progressed.
The new team here in Atlanta is selling out at 55,000 and are due to move to the Falcons stadium when it's ready. I don't have fox sports but have watched a few games in the Mexican league and it's a decent standard, more attacking and interesting for the Impartial observer in my opinion.

Plenty of shite defending which is maybe what attracts people to watch it - a bit like the wifey's football; plenty of talent and endeavour but only worth watching the highlights for the comical defending and the hopeless goalkeepers. Nobody can be arsed watching shitey football in any league unless there's an emotional tie-in. Not disagreeing that the MLS, wifey's football, and just about every fecking league in the world is on the up and we are regressing tho! And as for the question about how a new team can arrive on the scene and become a contender straight away, well they haven't got all the barriers that we have in Europe, what with the Champions League fiasco, the tv company cartels and the bent associations which protect the 'big' at the expense of the others. The MLS probably has that 'first draft pick for the shittiest team' thing, rules forcing 'x' amount of local players, 'y' amount of under 23 players, squad and individual salary caps and probably an equal share of tv money - all of which would never happen here because we are corrupt and they are not.

Talking about shite defending k19.....A player who got emptied out of MLS for not being good enough and now plies his trade for Falkirk, tore Scotlands elite defenders a new one a couple of weeks ago...lest ye forget.

Nationally and internationally, Scottish defending is shit. Always has been (with a few short-term exceptions such as Aderdeen in the 80s). I'm certainly not erm defending our defending, Bobby!
