In the spirit of why we all came here to build this forum, the Maroon side, ( for me ) have to accept that this Hibs side coming up are on a crest of a wave and with a media advantage we can't equal. I'll post one example here and ask a genuine question. Are we playing catch up from the start of the new season, on and off the park? www.dailyrecord.co.uk/opinion/sport/neil-lennon-hibs-stars-believing-10294217

At the moment they are a better side than us, think it will all depend on quality signings and Cathro getting the bubonic plague.

I thought when we came up it would be a dawdle. It wasn't. It was apparent that many from our domineering championship squad were too lightweight for SPL. MAY BE DIFFERENT FOR YOU BUT I suspect not.

It's not just the blogger mate. Lennon has a lot of clout with both the written and the broadcast media.

I don't believe they ARE a better side than us. Sure, they have risen to the occasion over spl sides and certainly gave us a doing but frankly that was as much down to us not turning up. They haven't set the Heather alight in the championship. I don't think they will struggle to stay up but if they want top 6 they will have to find more consistency.

Hibs are not stronger than us when we came up and I remember when we came up RN was saying it would take us at least 3 years to catch up with Aberdeen. I thought he was talking pish as Aberdeen were no great shakes but they have proved him 100% right in his assessment. If Lemmon (or a Hobo blogger) thinks Hibs will come up and piss all over Aberdeen, Hearts, St Johnstone etc then he's deluded. They've done well, mind you, and built a decent team there, playing in front of decent crowds (as we did in the diddy league). We're building a new stand, are on the way to fan ownership and, potentially at least, have an exciting (certainly interesting) management team in place. Hibs will lose Lemmon and some of his best players and sign experienced duds and rejects to try to keep the momentum going. It's short termism.

I have no fears about next season guys. Looking forward to a top 6 place-no bother! Plus a shot at the 2 Cups which I keep on saying are the real Trophies all the other clubs are realistically playing for.

Hertz are not any better NOW than when they came up imo. Plus they are far worse now than they were last November under RN.....FACT.

Hertz are not any better NOW than when they came up imo. Plus they are far worse now than they were last November under RN.....FACT. [/strong] We are certainly not enjoying it as much as we were last November or when we were romping through the diddy league, and we struggle to perform far too many times for my liking (almost every week) but the league was over by November and we weren't playing well EVERY game (we raised the bar for the Sevco match for RN's last game but we were shite before that!). It's sometimes easy to forget we are playing a higher standard of football than when we were in the diddy league. All it takes is for one team to be motivated (survival) and one team to be less moticated (nothing to play for) and the games very quickly become tougher. Perhaps the gap only shows when both teams are motivated. Consider the results since they introduced the play-offs. Only once has the diddy league runners up beaten the premiership team in a two-leg match (Hamilton overcoming a pathetic Hibs team which even then had to put in the 'Mother of all Hibsed It' performances to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory). Yes, Hibs can put in the occasional big performance now but over 2 legs Murderwell put 6 past Sevco and Kilmarnock put 4 past Falkirk (both Sevco and Falkirk had beaten Hibs on the way to the play-off final). I know everything is the big team's favour in terms of rest before the play off final, second leg at home etc but still, if Hibs think they'll regularly be tonking teams in the big league, they are deluding themselves. Even with their new brilliant manager and wonderful attacking team of galacticos, they've drawn 7 of their last 12 games in the diddy league FFS. That's relegation form in the big league and against MUCH better teams! [/quote]

Think Hibs will do okay with keeping media superstar Lemmon their main goal if they want to achieve this, they have a decent squad but remember they have been playing at a lower level for some time. IMO it will take them a while to adjust,be interesting to see who they hold onto as well,we need to rebuild again, the short term signings have not been a success ,the system brought in has not been enjoyed by the fans and we now have fans who have backed the clubs to the hilt are now being turfed out of their seats for Sevco, the Hobos and Tic fans whom regularly break all rules and destroy the stadium. Rant over. The league is getting stronger despite what the media say, with 6 or 7 teams competing well with each other under the Tims .Hearts need to step up ,Fidel will have a chance I'm sure but if he fails ,with Hibs adding to list of teams competing closely with each other,it won't be long before we are well behind our ambitions. The Hobos can enjoy the moment but hard work will be needed and not just Lemmon chat๐๐๐๐๐
