Can any of you explain the release clause rule used in Spain for me? So a player can be sold if a predetermined amount of cash is fronted up....I get that. But who puts up the cash? The team that is trying to buy him? The player himself? Players agent?

I remember when some overpaid bigshot went from Real to PSG last year he ended up paying the 200M Euros himself. In theory anyway, I assume PSG gave it to him to pay the SFA. And i don't know why they do it this way but I assume it's something to do with making sure the SFA know the exact amount so they can get a cut or report it for tax or something?
