I missed the morning games due to work but the matches were all close, USA winning by drj's favourite score but Europe missing last green putts for halves in two of the matches. But we gave the Yanks a real hammering in the afternoon. Every one of the USA team looked like rabbits caught in headlights and the European teams took full advantage. If the yanks don't come out fighting this morning this could be embarrassing.
I would play the same foursome partnerships this afternoon. The 2 seemingly out of sorts European players leading into the competition were Molinari and Garcia and absolutely thumped their opponents in the foursomes.
Have you ever seen a grandstand filled for the opening tee like that in Paris? 8,000 people watching just 4 groups playing their first tee shots. Amazing!

10-6 going into the singles tomorrow, Europe require 4 and a 1/2 to win the Ryder Cup

Really can't see past Europe winning by a healthy scoreline (guessing 17-11)

Comfortable enough Euro win, spoiled by Mickelson surrendering the cup on the tee box (cnut) but enlivened by De Bedroom making a complete arse of himself by insisting on playing on for 4 holes (maybe fair enough) then taking the flag away for Noren on the 18th who then sank the 100 foot "feck you putt to win the point.

Some off those Yanks were a disgrace this week, only ones with any credibility were Thomas, Speith, Finau, Simpson in my opinion, Tiger is still not properly back and Mickelson was a wasted spot.
Guys like Garcia and Poulter come in with very little form but burst a gut for Europe, some of those in USA should really watch them and see how it's done. Once again every European contributed something to the overall score card and showed their opponents that in a sport usually for the single minded that the Ryder Cup is more about the team and not individuals.
Congrats to Bjorn his vice captains, players and caddies for another great victory for Europe.

Said on the Tele that all games must be completed because of the betting industry. BT K19: Ah so that would explain it perhaps - I never heard the TV guys saying that.

I was quite glad that Mickelson did what he did. It meant Molinari got the point that won the cup. He deserved that accolade after his performances throughout the weekend.

But it also meant the thousands around the green (and many others, including the captains and staff) missed the chance to witness the concession and didn't know what was going on for a while. Anyway, it is what it is; I thought the course was spectacular even if the play wasn't.

All that matters is Europe won the Cup, the course was designed and set up to favour Europe and negate the long hitters of USA, they are used to calm conditions and target golf, the weather and set up showed that the USA gave little or no respect to play on the course. Got what they deserved a spanking!
