If she doesn't sue them she is impotent - as is any denial of the necessity to do so. The cost of a lawyer doing this would be small as it is an easy case and the materials are there. I'm sure there are many Hearts supporters who practice law in Edinburgh who wouldn't care about the money as well. Then British lawyers are cheap son coz it cost me thousands just to buy and sell a house which involved next to no fuckin work. That and my daughter in-law is a lawyer and she gives me a good deal on it too. Aye. The majority of corporate cases are won by whomever has the deepest pockets. If the 'powers' that be decided to relegate / demote, then HMFC will have to take their medicine. Is it right or fair, debatable, but then when is life fair. There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of jobs and livelihoods at stake. People losing jobs and houses is much less fair than us going down. Because of fan backing, the club will survive as long as professional football in this country does. The same can't be said for lots of of people's lives as they know it. Very few are immune from the widespread financial hardship that will be felt for years to come. Jobs go, industries go...yet our government has to pay hundreds of billions in bonds back to sticky plaster the economy. The maths isn't that difficult. Aye, shout about tactics or approach by Doncaster and his mob, but going to court for being relegated is not the right thing to do in my opinion.

UEFA have said if you can’t finish the league (see Nicola Sturgeon) then it should come down to average points. We are bottom of the league when you work out average points. I don’t think we have a case to go to court.

The other issue I have with that approach is because of the way I was brought up. Rightly or wrongly. I was always told “You have made your bed . Now go lie in it”. Translated to Hearts season this year we are where we are bottom by 4 points. Yes I agree we could gain enough points through the games left. If you are being realistic. I think that ship left Leith docks a long time ago. No one could foresee the unfortunate circumstances that have befallen ALL businesses since this thing began. I vote we take our medicine and get on with another rebuild for next season or the one after. Whichever comes first. If we sued chances are we would be back up in the Prem years before anything was settled anyway. Also if we sued them just think of the repercussions that might come our way on the pitch from refs being told to not give us one fuckin break? If you think we get a raw deal now? Then think again. Also by default if you are suing the SPFL then I assume you are also suing ALL the other member teams in that organization. Wonder how well that will go over having umpteen other teams pissed right the fuck off at us? Just saying.

I’ve always fought against wrongs no matter if I was the only one fighting for the cause and Everyone else was fighting against me. Justice is justice and must always be pursued. If people don’t like us for doing what is right - well f them and what does it say about them? Not very much. Sadly Ann said she won’t fight to the death if we get demoted.

My only issue now is there absolutely must be an independent investigation regarding this whole vote fiasco. The whole thing stinks but I agree that a season down in the championship wont kill us. Who knows what is going to happen next I would surprised if we come out of this with 42 pro clubs so a form of restructure may be essential. Now however is not the the time to be looking at restructure

What AB means by not fighting to the death junior is that she wont put at risk the survival of Hearts over it. Sometimes in any war you withdraw, lick your wounds and come back stronger.

Relegation is a certainty. Even if they do reorganize the leagues, we'd be down before we get back up. I expect them to take months to decide on reorganization, especially since there's no start date to aim for. By the time they decide, other clubs will have gone part-time or into Admin or maybe even gone altogether. For Hearts, does that mean no Stendel or no players or both? No point keeping the out of contract guys on and no point signing new players with no league in place and no income. I should be depressed about our situation (relegation, reorganizing) but I couldn't care less. Doesn't matter at this stage which league we play in - I just hope the club, and all of its fans, survive.
I'd be pissed if Scotland was the only League in the World which relegated teams based on points average but let's see what the other countries do before we start frothing at the mouth. Regardless of this season's outcome, we need major changes in the game if we are ever going to stop living in the shadows of the big two provincial clubs.

ADO Den Haag will file a law suit against the KNVB if they are relegated from the Eredivisie.
Several clubs are also planning legal action should the KNVB's decision on Friday go against them. (Studio Voetbal)

(Studio Voetbal) I believe England will go into melt down if the bottom 3 premier clubs get demoted on points average. I mean the cash dif is 10s if not 100s of million.

Budge statement
In recent weeks, I have had to make some of the toughest decisions during my time at the club and in my professional career. I have already spoken of my admiration for our people at Heart of Midlothian; the staff who have remained steadfast throughout the turbulence experienced by the club in past years. They have again shown their commitment and selflessness by making sacrifices, not least financially, to preserve the long-term sustainability of the club they – like the hundreds of thousands of supporters - hold dear.
The same applies to the playing staff, all of whom I have spoken to on an individual basis in the past few weeks to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the club and the potential implications for themselves.
Unanimously, they understand the unprecedented circumstances caused by the pandemic and the challenging position the club finds itself in as a consequence of the lockdown and enforced suspension by the football authorities. Equally, I appreciate and empathise with the fact that the players will have different personal circumstances to consider and are at different stages of their careers.
It is no secret that clubs are having to take significant steps in order to safeguard their financial health, both short term and for the foreseeable future. Our business model and our commitment to fan ownership is arguably unique to Scottish football, and for all of the many positives that brings, in the current climate it also presents us with distinct challenges.
As Chair I have to plan to protect the club by looking at the specific issues as they affect us and address them accordingly: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to emerging intact from the impact of the virus. I love the club as much as any other supporter, but we are only custodians with a duty to the generations that will follow us to pass on a strong football club.
In my conversations with the playing squad, I outlined that the most judicious approach for the club – considering all available information – would be to implement a temporary reduction in player salary, with a proposed percentage based on earnings ranging from 10% to 30%.
In those same conversations, and subsequent discussions with PFA Scotland, I outlined the rationale and also explained why a deferral is simply not an option for the club. To reiterate, I cannot - and will not, in good conscience - leave the club in a position again where football debt is left as a ‘legacy’ for those who follow.
I know too well the perils of that scenario, having arrived at the club to be immediately presented with a bill of almost £1m worth of football debt. I am an owner and supporter who is committed to the journey of full fan ownership and it is imperative that the handover takes place without that future financial burden. This was my promise to the fans who helped rescue the club in its hour of need and who continue to pledge their support monthly.
Furthermore, even in light of recent announcements from UEFA’s Executive Committee and the Scottish Government, there remains - completely understandably given the nature of the virus - no certainty or accurate forecast on when football may return and what form it will take when it resumes, from the perspective of spectator attendance.
I wish there was an option other than a temporary wage cut but after careful consideration it is the only way for the club to proceed with financial certainty.
Having paid the players’ wages in full for March, I have written to them today to request the formal notification of their acceptance of the temporary wage cut proposed in order that we can process salaries next week. I remain hopeful that the players will accept for the reasons outlined above, as the only viable alternative is that their contracts remain suspended under Clause 12 of the standard SPFL contract which means that they will not receive any wages during the period of suspension.
To reiterate, this is the least palatable of the viable options available to us and even if this is ultimately the route we have to take, we would continue to be open to dialogue with individual players on a month-by-month basis. As a fan-owned club we are unable to take on a substantial amount of player debt, which the club might not be in a position to honour, or which might significantly damage the club’s ability to recover quickly from this crisis situation.
The board and I bear the privilege and responsibility of being custodians of a proud institution, one that we are all in unanimous agreement must be handed on to future generations in good health and with a bright future. I say this in the midst of a health, social and economic crisis, the likes of which we have never known and, hopefully, will never see again.
For many clubs, businesses and institutions, this is a matter now of survival and in time, recovery and revival. I hope everyone connected with Heart of Midlothian appreciates that this is the over-riding objective in any and all decisions taken throughout this period. By working together, we stand the best chance of emerging stronger.

I had hoped it would not come to this, the choice for the players is stark but the Club comes first!!
