I'm pretty sure a few years ago someone created an article about this but I thought I'd just create a new one as I'd like to know the answers!
Where is the most bizarre place you've seen the famous maroon shirt? Or scarf or anything alike?
Seeing as I am yet to have the luxury of travelling outside Europe (although by no means think that you can't post anything within Europe) I can't think of anywhere that has been too weird!

My local football club when I first went to Rhodesia in the 70s had a whole range of Hearts pennants in the bar

Where ever I go I usually take mine with me but have yet to see one on my travels. Last year my boy and I were in Orlando for a fishing trip and we walked by a bar downtown and I heard this guy shout out "Jambo's"! So I wandered over and we had a wee chat. Have seen a Hobo's top in Invermere British Columbia though. About 3 or 4 yrs ago. I was sitting in my "Jambo" car (it's maroon of course) when I saw these 2 guys walking down the street. One of them had a Hibs top on so I just had to get out and talk to them. I invited them around to the back of my car and pointed to the license plate. It says JAMTRTS. That got a bit of a laugh.

New Orleans Superdome 2007 to see the Saints playing Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.......we both stopped not knowing what to say as I had a Hibs top on. Eventually we managed to speak and had a good chat....good bloke.

About three years ago I was standing in the Marion shopping mall in Adelaide wearing my retro top when I could feel a couple of eyes boring into the back of my head. Turning round there was a wee fat sellick person! staring at me with hatred written all over his wee ugly puss...... I just stared back and he eventually loped off dragging his knuckles behind him..... Could be the furthest away contender!

I cant offer anything to rival this but in the summer of 86 we raised our low spirits after being cheated out of the league by flying out to Tenerife. Ended up sat next to a Dundee fan on the plane but he hated flying so when he asked about the airport I took great pleasure in telling him about the worlds worst air crash at the old site. He never uttered another word.
Wearing my Hearts top got a lot of comments from folk who knew little about football but had followed our story. Then walked into a bar whose back wall was festooned in HMFC flags scarves pennants etc. Proud!

Chip shop in Germany, walked in and the only customer waiting was a mum with her boy in a Hearts top, number 9, name JAMIE on the back. I walked out to my car and told my son he had to come back into the shop with me. My son was wearing his Hearts top, number 9, name JAMIE on the back. Have seen Hearts tops in most places I've been to where the Army are and I am sure, with the links to the new aircraft carrier, we'll soon have tops in every port!

Moved to Kathmandu in 2005 and my next door neighbour Billy was a very big Jambo - of Royal Scots background, had some links with coaching network at Tynie and managed the local footy team. Hearts tops were commonplace in Nepal at the start of the Romanov Revolution!
