en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Europa_Conference_Leaguewww.bbc.com/sport/football/55845458Too complicated for me but going by the BBC report it seems the team which finishes 3rd/wins Scottish Cup is guaranteed European football until December even if they lose their Europa League play off game? Maybe this new comp is to fend off attempts at forming an Atlantic League? Looks very complicated and I'd imagine Aberdeen or Hibs will simply get an email telling them to report to Georgia or Moldova the following Tuesday evening?

The reason the cup winners are guaranteed a place in Europe till at least December is the play off is the stage before the groups if they win they go into the Europa groups if they lose they go into the groups for the Europa league 2 I’ll call it 😂 so a team has a chance off appearing in all three competitions if they start in the champions league qualifiers and lose.
