Part of everyone's football history. Loveable English adversary - who didn't love Saint and Greavesie on the telly? RIP Jimmy!

Think Geoff Hurst got his break into the England World Cup winning team because Jimmy was injured or possibly off form. So long ago I cannot remember now🤦♂️ Anyway. Always came across as a classy individual. RIP Jimmy.

Always came across as a classy individual. RIP Jimmy. At the end of the 1966 season he had scored 43 goals in 49 games for Spurs. He also scored 45 goals in 57 appearances for England. He did have injury problems and that gave Hurst his chance but Ramsey didn’t like Greaves and he didn’t fit into his system.

Always came across as a classy individual. RIP Jimmy. When he didnt get his place back for the final he turned to drink and lost the next 10 years of his life. He did well to recover and make a career in the media and after dinner speaking. He was a WUM with genuine humour and personality and rightly respected. In fact he was so good on the telly we sometimes forgot what a fantastic scoring record he had.We miss you Jimmy.
