This is how Brentford are sorting out the problem of empty seats every week. Hibs take note ππ If you donβt use your season ticket you have must allow another Brentford supporter to use your ticket or you must put it on ticket exchange for another supporter to buy which you will get a part payment. If you fail to do this and your seat is empty you will receive a yellow card. After 4 yellow cards you will not be able to renew your season ticket for next season. * There will be an appeal process *

The problem is that their stadium is small ( 17 - 18k) and with the likes of Man Utd, Man City Liverpool etc etc coming to play them every week they don't want to be turning away fans as there are "no tickets " available, whilst some Season Ticket holders don't turn up. You mention Hibs in your post but to my knowledge they very rarely get a sell out ( especially at times when they are not doing so well......most of the time ! ) so there are always seats available for walk ups etc. I believe on the few games that are sold out they do offer a ticket exchange.

Hibs and sell out in the same sentence just does not happen. Easter Road would be a mass of yellow tickets instead of empty green seats. Then you factor in the cheats who openly admit to falsely purchasing concession tickets and you end up with , erm, Hibs

Not in the know but how many Premiership clubs actually take a decent away support to games?

Don't think they want more away fans ek but want the home stands full of Bees fans. Some of the smaller clubs in the EPL run a high percentage of season tickets and have few for away fans and walk ups ..............not sure about Brentford but some friends of mine who support Norwich told me that over 80% of their ground is given over to Season Tickets. ( I suspect Brentford will be the same)
I've been to several grounds in the EPL and the away section has always appeared full. I think that for clubs with a ground capacity of 30k or less they have to give 3000 tickets to the visiting team . Over this figure then they have to give 10%, so at Man Utd for instance the away section could be up to 7k. Whether these are all released immediately to say clubs like Brentford, Southampton etc or whether they wait to see what the uptake is before selling the surplus to their own fans I don't know? Obviously when teams such as Liverpool, Arsenal etc come calling they can sell their full allocation as like up here with the uglies these types of team have supporters all over the country.
