It was sobering to read that he is unlikely to play again before the end of the year due to a heart related issue. I wish him well in his recovery.

Very sad to hear, hopefully he makes a full recovery. Always feels odd when a young fit guy has a problem like that but obviously it can happen to anyone.
Was it not a heart issue that Scott Allan had?

Aye Dolf, he suffers from cardiomyopathy which is a thickening of the heart muscle so restricting blood flow to the body. It is what caused Fabrice Muamba to collapse at White Hart Lane whilst playing for Bolton and was a contributory factor in the death of Motherwells Phil O'Donnell. It is the most common cause for young sportsmen / women to collapse during competition.
On top of that he is a type 1 diabetic.......so doubt he'll feature much for Arbroath again this season.
Have my doubts Harry has the same trouble as the usual course of treatment in cardiomyopathy is by lifestyle changes and medication. Whatever it is, good luck to him.
ps just read that the procedure is through the sternum which is why he will be out for 6+ months as the bone heals. I suspect a heart valve problem.
