To play in Europe you need to win the bread and butter league games, no time for a Euro hangover, the squad needs to be utilised properly during this time.
Marshall will start and the back four probably remains the same Miller, Fish, Hanlon, Stevenson for me. I’d rest Boyle and play Youan right with Obita starting left with Newell and Levitt remaining in the middle. Up front is hard because Doidge doesn’t deserve to be benched but Vente and Le Fondre looked a good partnership in the making. Our team looks a lot better balanced at 442 and don’t want to push Boyle so hard on his return from injury, but Youan needs to help out the full back playing wide.

Obviously I don't see him as much as you guys do but my impression of Youan ast season was that he was much more effective playing in the middle, similar to the role Ginelli played for us, utilising his speed for the ball over the top discouraging teams from pressing high.
Sure he is quick out wide but I always felt his final cross was poor.

I've said this before about Youan, he's got similar speed to Boyle and the same lack of what he's trying to do just like Boyle when he arrived at Hibs.(though to be fair, he's ahead of Boyle there) Boyle has learned how to utilize his talents, Youan has yet to master this. If and when he does, look out!

European hangover stuff not good enough At least you won't be worried about that after Villa games (if you get there). With Killie and St Mirren off to good starts, the sooner we both get knocked out of Europe the better maybe, leaving the sheep to have their European hangovers into December. That said, I think Hearts may have enough to manage league and Europe IF (huge if) we reach the group stages.

Just not good enough. These are supposed to be professional players who for the 2nd straight SPFL game couldn't piss in the wind! No excuses here, NONE. I don't want to hear any from anybody in the Hibs camp. Thursday is not the be all and end all. We might get to play Villa twice (might) but the League is still the bread and butter which got us there in the first place. Now as u lot all know, i'm a 2 Cup kind of guy. The League and Scottish Cups is the only chance to win anything in Scottish Fitba, so regardless of Thursday night in Swizzle Land we play Raith next Sunday in the Viaplay at ER and we better be up for it.

We all know how Hibs like a statement- yet total silence from them regarding their own fans who trashed a section of seats at Fir Park yesterday- shameful. Supposed to be their “special” fans as well- B7 or something. Coke heads by the noises coming from .nut

The sad part of it is we all want a Euro jolly (I’m off on Wed to Switzerland) but like you say we have next to no chance getting past Villa if we get past Luzern, and while we aim for playing in Europe every season it’s having a damaging start to the league campaign but we can recover. HFC is correct saying realistically the only trophies winnable are the two domestic cups, so hopefully myself and the other travelling Hibees supporters are the only ones to come back with hangovers and the team come back with clear heads and perform v Raith on Sunday to progress to the next round.
