As the pundits said and turned out to be accurate, win your physical battles and then play your football - exactly how it played out. Pleased for Rowles today, In a match where I feared he might get bullied, he was immense both on the ground and in the air. Great performance. All the Aussies did well to be fair, Cammy once again winning most of his battles. Forrest surprised me second half tbh as I thought he would be innefective against a well-drilled sheep midfield/defence - far from it, he looked up for it and caused them problems. Vargas almost scored but other than that he didn't do much (trying too hard maybe?) and Shanks didn't have his best game. I used to think Duk was a real baller but he was a niggly, whining, diving wee shite today and it was great to see Sibbick win his first couple of one on ones against him. Bookings were probably all deserved except Kent's which was probably Clancy making up for not booking him earlier when Duk got a head knock. All in all, a very good performance and result and the sheep downing tools for the last 10 minutes making it comfortably enjoyable for Hearts fans tho Sheep fans will probably be seething. Thank god your here K19... Thought I was on my tod there...

Well deserved win against a frankly pisspoor Sheep outfit. It was like they had 10 midfielders and if we'd pressed higher we would have dispossessed their back players a lot more. The subs gave help to the midfield and we weren't in danger after that. Good to see us dominate in the air for once with Devlin also winning a few headers.
Not a vintage performance but good individual showings and some good football moves in the 2nd half. Much much better as we come out on top in a must win game. The next spell of 5 games will be difficult so we need to step up especially away from home but much happier today.

My MOM was Natty closely followed by Dev....

I’m not getting too excited as I thought Aberdeen were horrendous but maybe we made them look like that. Oda looked a different player before he got injured, making good runs, running at defenders and tracking back. Excellent goal too. I thought our back 4 was solid apart from giving them a free header from a set piece. I liked the look of Hoff when he came on and if he plays like that every week then Haring might struggle to get in the starting line up.
Devlin absolutely superb again and was my MOTM.
Special mention to Clancy and his linesmen who were shockingly bad and Shinnie who spent the whole game diving, fouling and trying to get fellow professionals a sent off.

All bookings apart from Kent's were probably correct but the fact he was ignoring the sheep dive and cheat resulted in Hearts taking off Haring and Atkinson to protect them from the ref being fooled by their next dive - particulary Atkinson who was clearly being targetted by Duk.

First ten or so mins I was thinking it was looking like more of the same shite. Then it turned a corner and we pretty much dominated them. They had a couple of long range efforts but offered nothing else. Diving/cheating seemed to be their modus operandi and it almost worked. Well earned 3 points. P. S. Even though Aberdeen were crap, they at least they did not park the bus. When we are allowed to play we are decent. When teams sit in and hit us on the break after the inevitable breakdown up the park , we can struggle.

Not much of a test county was it? Hibs went up there and beat them 2-0 too, so make of that what u will! Even i had the Tarts in the predo!

Just having a look at Aberdeen signings, although they got cash in for 2 players in the summer, they have failry splashed out on players accross the team.
The bit that stands out though is the fact they have signed 7 new defenders this summer, 2 x RB, 1x LB, 4X CB, which is a huge overhaul of their defence, which they had already invested a lot in previously. Also signed 3 defensive midfielders, although thats not alwasy accurate.
They have paid a fee for 3 of those defenders, and a few more were undisclosed so may have paid something. Money doesn't guarantee success and currently although our defence can be dysfunctional i wouldn't swap many from Aberdeen for ours.
