Incredible that our CEO admits making managers decision after looking at a poll on Fans Forum.

Shouldn't be having a shareholders dinner after a match v the Uglies. Almost inevitable that the mood was going to be ugly/depressing.

The guy who asked the first question posted this on Kickback.
First question (as best as I can remember) how do the board feel about the disconnect from themselves and the fans? How do you justify continually picking the cheap option instead of the experienced manager. How can you justify your position based on the last 3 years? Andrew’s response was aggressive, sarcastic and narcissistic. Nothing direct to the response. He mumbled something about JKB voting to want to keep SN. Making a SC final (to which I responded no one remembers runners up) I responded by saying I can accept defeat to a better team but the manner of Sunday is unacceptable. he later apologised - then reiterated that apology in person to me at the end of the night. Only after me pulling him up about murmuring something as I left. He’s an a welt of a man with a weak spine. I explained my question was purely professional and not personal but he didn’t like that either. many other shareholders shook my hand as I left, a few chose to throw abuse. I’ve nothing to hide, my opinion is my own.

It’s the AGM next month, McKinlay (if he attends) better take a couple of big bouncers with him if he's going to be as aggressive as he was last night.

Life in commercial business/banking/investment is obviously a lot easier for him than life as CEO of a football club - you would think the opposite as there he gets judged by results based on his decisions. I don't think it's fair to blame him entirely tho. The guy asks about disconnect between the board and the fans then slaughters him for saying the board listened to the fans (JKB) when appointing a manager. I guess the point was maybe that the fans are now saying get another manager and he's not listening now - but he needs to make it clear we can't keep changing management team every few months.
I don't think he'll have too much difficulty in justifying his own position either - does the fan know what else goes on apart from appointing a manager?
I'm hoping McKinlay now realises that he's not going to get an easy ride based on his 'status' as CEO and benefactor and I hope he's up for the fight to prove his worth. I also hope the fans realise the shit we would have been in if it wasn't for Andrew McKinlay (before he became CEO) and treat him with the respect he deserves.
I do think we need some 'football people' on the Board to make life easier for the likes of Andrew and Anne and to deal with the footballing questions. Levein was the right choice back in the day and should have stayed as football director and not gone back to management. Don't know who would fit that bill now tbh.
