The only time I want us to sign a loanee is if we have no one in the academy in that position or that the loanee will make a significant impact on our results. Otherwise, use the academy and get them developed

Joel Sked just tweeted
Scott Fraser to Tynecastle.
There’s been a hold up in the transfer on Charlton’s end but Hearts remain hopeful of securing the loan move.

Also Banderson has tweeted the same
Scott Fraser's proposed loan move to Hearts from Charlton has been held up but I'm told it's still alive as things stand.

Rocco Friel wanted by Rams
Derby County have taken Hearts youngster Rocco Friel on trial.
The 17-year-old has been given the chance to win a deal with the English League One side.
The Rams would need to come up with a compensation package if they decide to offer a deal.
Friel has been part of Hearts’ successful B squad under the guidance of Liam Fox.
The teenager was previously at Sevco before he made the move to the capital.

I'll just throw this one in to get things going on a dreich Tuesday morning. Heard a pretty far fetched rumour that Tavernier might be coming to us...... Now obviously I treat this one as a load of pish but one never knows! I saw that Twitter, the guy is an idiot who’s been tweeting shite on a daily basis. Seemingly Tommi Gronlund told him FFS. Pants Shaton....yep....that's the guy's Twatter name. Bit of a wind up merchant. He's been posting that sort of keek in response to the equally keek, keek written by The Daily Sevco's Keith Jackson, who all but has Shanks in a blue shirt. Couldn't get the link to work, but this was Jackson's latest piece of Weegie twaddle..... "They could hear the alarm bells clattering from three and a half miles away at lunchtime on Saturday. Because when skipper Lawrence Shankland failed to make the short journey from Tynecastle to Ainslie Park for Hearts’ Scottish Cup tie with near neighbours Spartans, a sense of deep suspicion stretched the length of Gorgie Road. Of course, it’s not always necessary to be overly cynical where such matters are concerned. But, experience dictates, it’s often the wisest policy. If Shankland had an upset tummy or a dose of the sniffles then, how could he reasonably have been expected to put himself in the line of duty? And yet the absolute truth of the matter is the player himself will have known exactly how his absence was likely to go down in terms of perception alone. Locked in contract talks with the club one day. Too ill to get out of bed the next, without a pen being put to paper. And with speculation raging all around that Sevco might be about to weigh in with an offer in a bid to smuggle him across the M8 to Ibrox before the transfer window closes at the start of next week. If Shankland didn’t realise that kind of coded message he was sending out then, at the age of 28, he should be old enough to know better. His club’s supporters are neither stupid nor naive. On the contrary, they have seen this movie plenty of times before over the years and they know it doesn’t come with a happy ending. So even if he was struggling to pull back the duvet, Shankland really ought to have made the effort if he is in the slightest bit interested in keeping himself in the good books with his club’s supporters or even his manager, Steven Naismith. Naismith could not have looked any more uncomfortable in front of the cameras shortly before kick-off if Shankland had poured a bottle of Ralgex into his underpants for the short journey up the road. He squirmed. He wriggled. And then his eyes began to dart around as if they were trying to escape from his face. “Last few days he’s been ill,” Naismith said without managing to refer to Shankland by his name. “He’s not been in the building since Tuesday. Or Wednesday,” Naismith continued without so much as the merest hint of conviction. It was almost as if Naismith didn’t realise he was making the hole even bigger than it already was. So he picked up his shovel and continued to dig. He went on: “Ehmmm, and to be honest it’s probably no great effect having him here. We’ve got a busy week and we’ll just see how that plays out over today, tomorrow and the lead up to Dundee.
Hearts face a visit from the Dens Park outfit tomorrow night when the second half of the top flight season gets underway. If Shankland is still clutching a doctor’s line by the time Tony Docherty’s team arrives in the capital then it won’t be alarm bells clattering at Tynecastle, it will be the sound of out and out panic. Naismith was then given the opportunity to settle some fraying nerves by addressing the elephant in the room. But when asked if his club’s supporters shouldn’t read too much into Shankland’s untimely sicky the woolly, entirely unconvincing nature of his answer only succeeded in sending concern levels crashing through the roof. With a shifty shake of the head he said: “Yeah, he’s not been seen or been with the group. He’s been in contact with the medical staff and their advice has been to stay away so unfortunately that’s it. But I’m confident with the team we’ve got that we should be able to go on today and put Spartans under pressure.” Put Spartans under pressure? Of all the things Naismith could or should have said about Shankland’s immediate future, putting Spartans under pressure wouldn’t have made the top 100. To be fair to him he was, at least, true to his word. His team did manage to pile it on the team from League Two by taking an early lead even without their talisman leading the line. That they then failed to press home this advantage by putting the tie out of sight must have made the manager wonder if a bad day at the office was about to become even worse. Spartans keeper Blair Carswell, who looked like a man who had not yet quite fully recovered from the after effects of a right good night out, made one or two smart saves but it was hardly as if his match readiness was being properly put to the test at any point. And so, when the minnows levelled things up midway through the second half, Naismith must surely have realised that he was now staring a full blown crisis square in the eye. Yes, the manager heaved a huge sigh of relief in injury time when Frankie Kent headed home a face saving header to secure Hearts with a place in the fifth round and dodge the embarrassment of having to go to extra time. But even though a 2-1 win was ultimately enough to prevent a Scottish Cup catastrophe, this was a day when Hearts fooled no-one. On the pitch or off it. The standard of performance was every bit as feeble and unconvincing as their manager’s attempts to explain why his captain had taken the day off."Keith Jackson is an absolute roaster!

Hearts linked to signing forward Lys Mousset who is now a free agent.
*** I’ll be surprised if we’re after him as he’s not the type of player Budge would like at the club ***
Unless we’re prepared to give the guy a chance to prove he’s not an arse.
