Will be an interesting game, with the newly funded Lochend galacticos vs the downtrodden men of the people from Gorgie. My money is on Hearts, need to get something from the St Midden game then win this to put a wee bit of daylight between us and the rest. Hibs have the banker of a game against Ross County, whose own manager thinks they are pish. Any thoughts on the Sky Sports "innovations"? I agree with Naismith, lose and you will come across as an idiot no matter what, also does it change the way the manager communicates with the players and make them self conscious. I have to say I would have loved to have listened into Lee Johnson, I think Montgomerie will be steady and a bit dull to be honest. My other thought is if Sky want this sort of thing then they need to poney up a decent amount, they cant get top level coverage and insight when they are paying junier league level prices, so maybe let them try it but if they like it and want to do more of it then they need to pay for it. It also opens us up to all sort of parody and could make the Scottish game look even more of a joke than normal. Greame Taylor being the best example of that and he never quite recovered from the humiliation of his private thoughts being made public at his lowest point. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67804753

The only innovation by Sky Sports is that neither arse cheek is playing! As for the mic they can GTF with that with the manager and put it on the ref instead so we can all hear whatβs happening inside the stadium.

As you say, it could open us up to being a laughing stock. Mike up the refs and get their ridiculous decisions examined and leave the passionate, ranting coaching staff alone (for now).

I understand it alright. The Social media world has to keep on spinning and producing huge dollops of shite to entertain the plebs in society. How else are they gonna be entertained unless the sporting world keeps feeding us it.

As for ON the pitch, i believe Hibs will win. That's even on the backend of the Tarts 2-0 home win today V the Duds Buds of Paisley. Apparently Shanker scored 2 today so he's been set up for big letdown come Wednesday (fingers crossed). Ggtth!,,,Mon the Hibees!

No doubt they'd use anything controversial said as justification for fines and bans. Bad idea.

Hearts will carry a lot of confidence into the game following their victories against St Mirren and more especially the one at Celtic Park. Shankland is scoring for fun and despite all the interest with other clubs after him he will again lead the line at Easter Road and be looking to add to his goal tally. Hibs are looking more uncertain with losses at Celtic Park and St Johnstone. From the highlights they had big slices of luck against Aberdeen and Livi.( plus Marshall playing superbly) Is the plan of Montgomery working ? He certainly doesn't want to change it. It will be interesting to see how Naismith plays against this plan of passing out from the back.......does he high press and leave space in the midfield or does he let Hibs back players have the ball and ask them to make a telling pass with less space. Unfortunately the plan requires a great deal of tracking back and tackling by Boyle, Youan and Tavares in order to help out the midfield 2, a job where they are often found wanting! Lets hope it's a good game worthy of being on TV and will be interesting to see and hear how this miking up of Montgomery will work. At this stage I think Hearts will have too much for Hibs and will get another victory at Easter Road. Winning goalscorer.....Shankland.

Just back from Gloucester City so wanted to wish both teams and sets of fans a great game and safe journey to and from Easter Road. Should be a good spectacle under the lights and lets hope the quality is there for the Sky viewers. If it's as good as the second half at Gloucester yesterday it should be a cracker.
Happy New Year to all Hearts and Hibs fans on here.

I hope the away team has slightly less possession than Celtic last night - that complete mismatch v Dundee was a shocker if anyone was tuning in and did nothing to promote the game. Tonight's game should be closer. 5-1 Hearts.
