Seemingly but probably not surprisingly near to the exit door given their league position. He seem to be ready to jump if not pushed. I don't think Livvy can afford to replace him with a similar standard but thats just my opinion.
However a piece on this on the BBC website made me laugh. Referring to the fact that DM was thought to get the Perth job before Levein was appointed the reporter states "Saints are a bigger club, with a bigger budget and a bigger fan base, so it was not fanciful to think Martindale might ....thrive in that relatively opulent environment." In what reality? St J's diddy ground is often only a quarter full.

I think bbc sportsound was alluding to a lot happening behind the scenes at Livingston and from what I heard of Martindale's comments, he would have resigned already if he thought it would do any good

Lets face it. There is really no need for them to fire him right now. They are toast. He is the Grand Poobah there. No doubt they will be looking for someone for next year in the Championship. He might just make a sideways move once they confirm the new man in charge. Just my feeling on it.
