I'll start by saying that we have to be pleased at where we are at this moment in time. SN is a new manager still learning his craft and we've taken a lot of points in games where we've struggled to break down the opposition. All positive.
I made an observation yesterday that may raise eyebrows and even cause an angry reaction initially but please read on then examine the evidence for yourselves.
Having watched Naisys post match interview in the tunnel I was worried by his entire lack of hurt. He seemed to almost smirk at times and his answers were more focused on how good he thought Sevco are/were without commenting much on our players and what he's going to say to them to turn things round.
This of course comes from my general suspicion about the attitude displayed by recruits who have spent their lives following either of the Uglies. Many of them are immersed in the unshakeable belief of eternal superiority and therefore are never bothered when we lose those games. In fact they expect to lose. Alex McDonald was another one who believed that any player not good enough for either was good enough for HMFC. To be fair it very nearly worked once but its not a sound philosophy. This was perhaps the difference between him being a good manager and an all time great. One player from around that era remarked that we lost a game at Ibrox on the bus going through due to such attitudes.
If we assume for now that Hibs overtake Dundee for 6th we only have two of our last 11 games against a bottom 6 side. I fear that yesterday could (perhaps) spark another collapse like last year due to failings in leadership as well as individual howlers and general loss of confidence. Wednesday will be huge in that respect.
Everyone will have a view on this and I expect major pushback but if this is the case the evidence will continue to pile up in the coming months.
