Despite renting pitch covers from Paedo FC, Dundee v Sevco is postponed again. The club is heavily in debt so presumably can't afford a hybrid pitch but they need to sort this out for next year.
Meanwhile, Sevco are miffed (rightly so), and there will be all sorts of potential ramifications for the post-split fixtures if Dundee fail to beat Aberdeen on Sunday. Whether Dundee have to try a leg or not v Sevco may also depend on the Aberdeen result, as much as the Motherwell v Hibs result.
I think the simplest way to have dealt with this would have been to deduct points and make them play at a neutral ground - they can't simply award points to Sevco - but if they deduct points now then Dundee have no chance of Top 6 so why bother turning up v Sevco; why not just hand Sevco the points? Damned if they do deduct points and damned if they don't.
So it's likely to be a fine... which worsens their already precarious financial position and reduces the likelihood of them improving the pitch.
What a fecking mess but Sky, Sevco and thousands of supporters will all be insisting on action being taken.
Hold onto your hats!
P.S. I didn't mention Sevco also being tired for the Hearts game because of how they rolled us over so easily the last time after their losing Europa Final, but if Hearts decide to turn up this time, tiredness could certainly be another complaint coming thr GFAs way.
Thoughts on an appropriate punishment for Dundee and recourse for Sevco?

Playing next Wednesday, shambles.
Throws into question the integrity of the league allowing this to go ahead after all other final fixtures, although likely won’t change the result of a Sevco win.
Dundee have admitted to spending more on squad this season are in process of moving stadium, so blaming the pandemic is a a bit much and the weather being really bad is a bit much when lowland and highland teams can provide better and Tannadice looks like a bowling green. They’ve also admitted to not doing much work on the pitch which for a top flight team is embarrassing. With their debts being published a fine probably not a good idea, so only tangible punishment would be either a forfeit 0-3 or points deduction, but you know nothing like that will happen and everything will be swept under the carpet.

Scandalous for sure but am I alone in suspecting that there would be little fuss if it hadn't involved Sevco and their bid to go top?

Well it’s affecting the title and race and the race for top six, should be a contingency so all final games pre split or last game of season all go ahead at same time. Could you imagine this, Dundee make the top 6 and are scheduled to play either half of the OF at Dens in a helicopter Sunday scenario and it’s raining heavily?

Hibs believe Dundee have gained a sporting advantage by postponing tonight’s Scottish Premiership game against Sevco. And they’ve voiced strong objections to the SPFL over a scenario branded “embarrassing” by the furious Ibrox outfit.
The Dens Park pitch failed a 3.30 pm pitch inspection today, creating a fifth call-off of the season at the home of the Dark Blues, who now face disciplinary action. The game has been rescheduled for next Wednesday night.

The game has been rescheduled for next Wednesday night. The sporting advantage is that their players now get an extra few days rest before arguably the biggest game of their season on Saturday, now had the game been played earlier no fuss or advantage would be gained. As we know the final fixtures pre split or last day of season are all played at the same time for a reason, in any event the positions come 5.15pm Saturday are likely not to change, looks like a hefty fine heading to Dundee who have no head groundsman for negligence at best.

EFL handed Coventry City a 5 point deduction in 2022 suspended for the 2022/23 , 2023/24 seasons for having 3 games called off. Obviously if a further game is postponed it will come into play.
Pity this sort of deterrent isn't enforced in the Scottish Premiership.

Pity this sort of deterrent isn't enforced in the Scottish Premiership. I think that is probably the best punishment tbh - a suspended sentence. They can either sort their pitch out or reverse global warming, whichever is easiest for them, but a hefty points deduction for any future offence, regardless of circumstances, seems fairest way to punish them for this year's debacle.
