With regard to masks, I believe the advice to be correct. The SARS virus is not airborne except if someone who has it coughs near you ( minute droplets produced) especially say in an enclosed space, eg bus or shop. Therefore if you feel you have it ......wear a mask. It may be enforced in shops / buses as the lockdown is eased?? but who knows? The Government are wise not to advocate it as certain people will stockpile them......look what happened to toilet rolls! They are mainly needed for carers and NHS staff. ( although those thin paper one you mainly see are pretty useless......those CI course kicking in again lol) Remember if you do wear a mask.......biggest danger is taking it off with your hands ........virus could have been stopped / deposited on the outside which you then transfer to your fingers in removal......touch your face...and ............therefore back to hand washing again

I’m just listening to the scientific advisors talking about wearing face masks. Most countries are making it compulsory but they’re suggesting we don’t buy them as it will put the supply to the NHS at risk. They’re also saying wearing a mask won’t stop you from getting the virus but will stop you giving the virus to somebody. What kind of statement is that. The advice is if you want to wear a mask, make your own or put a scarf over your face. The reason masks and gloves alone (scarfs inc) don’t work as you can contract the virus through droplets in your eyes so add in safety goggles along with full ppe kit that can be disposed off safely and you may be ok, but get all this stuff takes away from supply for key workers so this is why it’s advised against in my opinion.

As I said dav, I don't know which is right and as you said you have to be sceptical of figures( I did not say believe them for figures but to trust their advice).....from all countries and not just the UK. Politicians in many countries have been slow to react and underestimated the virus. Who in Spain thought it was a good idea to let 3000 + Madrid fans go to Liverpool for a football match?? As I said, time will tell if Sweden are right or wrong. I am watching the figures from the USA where each state is deciding what measures to take which range from being open with social distancing to total lockdown. I am not advocating everyone going back to normal, as you say, aspects of this social distancing will be with us for a very long time, and as for mass gatherings......? Hong Kong flu of 1968 killed over 30,000 in the UK and over 2 million worldwide, so this is heading that way despite the lockdown. Spanish flu earlier in the century killed many more than that. These strains of flu are still around and keep mutating which is why there isn't just a flu vaccine that "acts for all flu" Effects of these flus can be seen in all countries, especially the USA where this season alone getting on for 30 million have contracted it, over half a million have been hospitalized and deaths are estimated between 40,000 and 60,000. SARS is slightly different but basically this virus will be around for a long time. ( as are the strains of the last major SARS outbreak a few tears ago) As you say every life should be protected and the danger is that as countries open up and younger people go out and about more, who may or may not have had it, they can still carry the virus and pass it on to more vulnerable people. Having worked in practice for nearly 40 years in the NHS and being on more cross infection courses I care to mention, I fully understand the need for measures we are adopting at present and that they will be with us in some form or other for a long time. If nothing else comes out of this perhaps the general public will realise the importance of hand washing! Thanks for doing the job you are doing dav and keeping the country going. Everyone, stay safe. Thank you mate, yes hope everyone stays safe

I should say the advice on mask removal goes for your outside clothes and scarfs when you go inside the house.......always wash your hands having taken them off.
Also remember when in a shop, the person serving may be wearing gloves but that is to protect themselves and not you. They may have picked the virus up on the gloves from a previous client which they can then transfer to your card, change, goods as they give them to you. Therefore be vigilant as to what may have been touched and don't automatically touch them with your bare hands as sooner or later you will touch your face.

South Korea for instance where their cases have dramatically decreased.

Further along the infection curve plus sheer numbers of people around and about eg for the elections where thousands would be out and about, social distancing and wearing a mask is compulsory.......with the numbers. there are bound to be some people who are still infective and so more droplets flying around.....as I said especially in an enclosed space and room ......we may see this in shops / buses etc when our lock down starts to be lifted. ( masks may be handed out outside shops?) As dav says.....droplets can enter via the eyes so perhaps these countries should also wear protective goggles? As has been mentioned some groups / countries etc show a natural resistance ......look at numbers in Germany, N and S Korea, Sweden? etc.......but as someone said don't always believe what Governments are saying. We should be watching Sweden closely more, as they have gone the other way to combat the virus compared to a belt and braces approach. Nobody really knows.

Hopefully she’s putting more resources into the legal case that will almost inevitably happen.

I'm kinda with her. I'm not sure it is the right time to be looking at reconstruction. Until such time as we have even a rough idea of when we will be playing again and how many clubs are still left at that point, league construction is frankly a waste of time. Perhaps to be raised again once we have more information of when we will be playing.

What should be looked at now is the whole Dundee vote debacle. Don't let this be swept under the rug! A call for an independent investigation should be the main focus for AB.

Absolutely canjam, l can see interest in this slipping it cant be allowed to. I'm not all that fussed what league we play in when we get back but the questions over this whole debacle need to be asked and answered.
