Some twit on Twatter posted that Savage was apparently overheard telling one of his mates in a pub about the commission he was about to pocket for selling Shanks to Iranian club Tractor FC for 6.5 million.
Yeh, bloke in the pub said, so must be true.
As you say MTS, what sane person would want to go there. A country that was once described as part of the axis of evil alongside Saddam's Iraq and North Korea.
Here's a wee extract from Tractor FC's wiki page...
Violence and racist slogans
In home games, Tractor fans often shout racial insults and calls to violence against the other ethnic groups in Iran, in particular Persians and Kurds.[6] Some supporters also carry the flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan inside the stadium.[7] In a match on November 1, 2019, in response to Turkey's recent military operation against the Syrian Kurds, the ethnic Azerbaijani Tractor fans chanted "Death to Kurds!" throughout the match and carried banners stating "Either Czechoslovakia or Yugoslavia!", in reference to the Yugoslav Wars.[8]
A percentage of fans do not care much about the football game and its results and are looking for a safe gathering place to express political separatist tendencies, as some Tractor fans compare their club and Pan-Turkism with FC Barcelona and Catalanism ideology.[9][10] These movements mainly include chanting slogans and carrying ethnic writings, and sometimes they have themes in support of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan political acts.[11][12]
During the transfer of the 16th Persian Gulf Pro League, the CEO of Tractor club, Mostafa Ajorlu announced a two-year contract with Varazdat Haroyan, the central defender of the Armenian national team. But after 12 hours of this incident, the CEO of Tractor Club published an article on his Instagram and announced that they gave up recruiting Haroyan.[13] Ajorlu stated that the reason for this action was the unity of the Turks and in response to the protest of some of the team's fans, the fans' protest was due to the so-called «occupation of Karabagh» by Armenians, and they consider Israel and Armenia to be the occupiers.[14] This action was criticized by the media due to suspicions about racism and the involvement of politics in sports. Also, on the 10th of March 2017, during the match between Tractor and Sepahan teams that was held at Yadgar-e Imam Stadium in Tabriz, some Tractor fans set on fire the Armenian flag inside the stadium in protest of the incidents that occurred during the visit of the Prime Minister of Armenia to Tehran.[15]
Damage to opponent's stadiums
In some away games, Tractor fans burned the stadium seats and damaged the walls of the stadium. In 2018, they inflicted heavy damage on the Azadi stadium.[16] In 2017, They did damage to Yadegar-e Emam Stadium of Qom.[17]

Wishing death on ethnic groups? Racist and bigoted chanting? Damage to other stadiums? No real interest in the game just the chance to be offensive?
I’m not sure he needs to move much further than the length of the m8 to get all that

Six figures is very vague, from memory we paid £400k, if we got anywhere near our money back then we have done well.
Goes into a long list of players who I feel should have been better but have been disappointing. Often looked like he was about to ignite and really have an impact games without actually doing it.

Saw this twitter video of Josh Ginnelly's goals for Hearts - we are going to have to get a very good player in to fill his boots and, if we are hoping to improve that position, we will probably be disappointed.

Rumours are we made €150k on the deal.

Looks like Steven Caulker has left Wigan. He is someone we have been interested in the past. If (and its a big if) his injury issues are behind him he may well be the type of centre back we are looking for.

£250k hits the bank today from FIFA. That’ll buy new furnishings for the new Hotel and maybe a new right back for the Woman’s team 👍

How does that payment work? We get £250k for 3 aussies, Hibs get £177k for one? is it linked to wages? From EEN: Hearts received the larger chunk of cash, and the third most among Scottish top-flight clubs behind Celtic and Sevco, getting $325,775 (£248,802) due to Nathaniel Atkinson, Cammy Devlin and Kye Rowles being called up by the Socceroos. The latter played in all four of Australia’s games, while Atkinson started the opening match against France. Money was distributed at around £8409 per day per player. However, this total was also divided three ways: between the club with a player on their books, the club were the player was registered the previous year (so season 2021/22), and the year before that. This meant Hibs’ total wasn’t far behind that of their Edinburgh rivals, coming in at £229,959 (£175,613) despite not having a player in action at the tournament. Martin Boyle still counted as being away with Australia despite the discovery of a knee injury before the finals which ultimately meant he missed the rest of the season, while the Hibees also received money for Jackson Irvine. He, like Rowles, played in all of the Socceroos games and was a Hibs player for six months in 2021.
