Michael Smith, GMS and Ross Stewart to leave the club.
Peter Haring signs a one year extension.

We will miss Smithy. Incredibly consistent performer and brought stability and quality. Its sad but he was clearly about to tail off performance wise and looks to be injury prone so I'll simply wish him well now that his time has come.
We really won't miss the other two although Cheesy can at least look back at a decent performance at Darkheid. GMS has been a major disappointment.

Michael Smith is running on fumes but has been a good player for the club and I hope he gets a lap of honour after putting Hibs to the sword on Saturday. Stewart never really got a chance but that's what happens when you are a reserve keeper - when he did get an outing he made some howlers, unfortunately. GMS is one of the most disappointing signings we have ever had - I expected something but he gave nothing.

Agree with all comments, sure some will say others should go as well but with the possibility of European run will we need to have a squad big enough to cope , as we found out last season or do we just run with a squad capable of mounting a league campaign, arguably two different scenarios ?🤦♂️🤦♂️🤷♂️

Catch 22 (but serves us right for fucking it up). We need to get into a cycle of qualify, build, qualify, build and we've blown it. The only thing we can hope for is getting some white knight with money to burn to fund us for another crack at qualifying? Unless, of course, we still have the euro money from last year and decide to spend it on players rather than hotel rooms?

Heard today Gino is going to the championship and Sibbick is going too. Don't know where though..... Just thought I would fling that one in...

Ginos actions at the end today where not those of a man who is leaving. I think it's still very much open for discussion.

Gino is gone. His family are down south and he naturally wants to spend time with them.

I get what you are saying but i was at the game yesterday till the players all went in and i could be totally wrong, but... IMO if he was 100% away he would have been in the guard of honour and am sure his body language to the fans at the end would have been much more different, his body language was not of a man saying good bye to the fans.
Gino has expressed his wishes to stay, but a long term contract is needed so he can move his family up... is that so unlikely Hearts won't offer that???
Am hopeful he will stay.

Josh Ginnelly admits Hearts chucked away third spot in the Premiership. But the Jambos striker was still delighted to keep Hibs in their place after sealing fourth. The frontman shrugged off the bad blood between the sides following a pile on after the final whistle. And he was glad to hold Hibs off on the pitch with the point getting the job done.
Ginnelly said: “We’re not really bothered, to be honest. We’ve got fourth, they ain’t. It was handbags, we’re not interested in that stuff. We’ve got it, they ain’t, so we’re delighted.“It’s always going to be like that, there’s never much football played, it’s all about percentages and who can see the other team’s spell out better. We did that and thankfully we got fourth. Look, we threw away third, that’s just the honest truth.“Today the full focus was on that fourth position. We’ve kicked ourselves in the teeth, but we have shown great character to come back and secure fourth.”
Ginnelly admitted he’s still unsure if he’ll be at Hearts next season. He said: “We’re still going through everything, it takes time, it’s not just a piece of paper. “There’s so many little differences that need to get changed on my side or that the club wants to change. So it’s just negotiating, but it’s closer than it was. “Look, my heart is here, I enjoy it here, I enjoy the boys, I have a great relationship with everyone. Since the first day I came here I have been shown the best of love. My heart is here. But I also have to make sure it’s right for me because it will be another two or three years away from my family unless I can get them up here.”

How many goals have we lost this season due to Sibbick and Rowles. Two centre backs that can’t header a ball, both ball watch and both get ragdolled by physical strikers. Over to you Savage and I’ll volunteer to drive them to their destination.

I think Sibbick and Rowles are both very good players, but possibly not as a partnership. Although all centre back pairings look better when they have had a run of games together and that has been our issue this season, we havent managed to get a partnship together we can stick with. We have had Halkett, Rowles, Sibbick, Cochrane, Kingsley, Hill, Smith and Nielson playing there at times.
We do seem to have been struggling for a big ugly centre back beyond Halkett for a number of years. The first thing Gerrard did when he joined Sevco was sign a couple of monsters, Goldson & Katic (with Mcaulay too), Robson did similar at Aberdeen, with Mcdonald and Pollock. I think we seem fixated with them being able to bring the ball out from the back, which is great, but they have to do the bread and butter too. I still think Haring has a role to play there in an emergency, also Lewis Neilson has the ability to do that, he played well when he came in but then a bad performance in Europe and we didnt see him again.
All that said, if we got a decent offer for Rowles or Sibbick I woudl be tempted to take it. Rowles may still have a fair bit of credit left from the world cup.

Halkett has still to prove his fitness and his injury history is not good. Rumours about Sibbick and Cochrane leaving.

I would want well over £1m for Cochrane to be honest, he is a very good player when he is allowed to settle into a run of games. Easily our best player in the first half of the season. (ok Maybe SHankland was good too!)
With Kingsley, it is a bit of a luxury to have them both at the moment, given the need for resource elsewhere. Although it looks like Kingsley is being seen more as a LCB than LB now, which I dont agree with.
