We'll see how the Tarts come out of Saturdays Bear Mauling when they face the mighty Hibees, possibly for the last time this season depending on whether Hibs can make good use of a pretty decent League run-in. Hibs have 7 games left with the Tarts and Sevco away, Well and Ross County too.
While at ER we have Ross C, Livi and the Farmers. As i said a decent run of games if we get our act together. No Cellic, Sheep or plastic pitches to play on.
As for the Tarties, well they can only Fuck up 3rd spot which TBH they did last season but surely they are too far ahead to blow it now?
POSSIBLY A DRAW BECKONS BUT IT IS A DERBY AND STRANGE THINGS DO HAPPEN IN THESE GAMES.

I’d take a draw just now, but if we can get in front then the SN out brigade will start growing louder (hearing that they came out at Ibrox unbelievably after their charge to splitting the OF or title winning form came crashing down around them), and that can help us. However we can’t afford to go a goal down as it will be the lift they needed after Ibrox.

Much more riding n the game for Hibs than Hearts, a loss for Hibs would be another blow to top 6 chances. Although Dundee dont have the easiest run ins either, with Aberdeen twice, Celtic and Sevco.
A lot will come down to the wide areas, Hibs have wide players who are good going forward, but really struggle to defend. If Hearts get on the front foot then they will be obsolete, the other way around and they will cause damage. Both defences are prone to lapses. Id still go 3-1 Hearts though. I just dont see the heart of solidity in th Hibs team at the moment.
As an aside, If/when Shankland goes in the summer, I would take Vente, he looks like a finisher who just needs confidence. Hibs play in a way as to try to give him as little of the ball in the box as possible, if he was playing with the team working for him like Hearts do for Shankland then I think he would thrive.

I think with Vente that was due to the players around him. Youan is good but to greedy for me and Jair may well have improved but still not a starter for me. With Boyle back, Maolida, Marcondes and Moriah-Welsh I think he will get more service in the box ehich hopefully will help us score more goals in the remaining matches. Tomorrow will be a test for us no doubt to see if we have it to make a push for top 6 even though we do have some kinder fixtures towards the split except Ibrox.

HT 1-1 Disputed Hearts penalty equalizer. I think it was a penalty. Look closely and Fish Hip checks Vargas. If it was hockey? Great play. Football? Penalty! Shanks……goal! Fair play to Hibs though. They have pkayed very well and defended relatively stoutly. Goid second half been set up. Unfortunately I will miss most of it😔

Allan Preston:::::: Former Hearts midfielder on BBC Sportsound.
I think Hibs will be getting another apology. That's never a penalty in a million years, if it's given for the challenge on Vargas.
It's not VAR that's the problem, it's the people officiating.

Hibs should have won that game, No doubts there. If there is a gripe, from a Hibs point of view then everything seems as though it's just too much of a rush, not enough thought going into the final pass/shot when the Tarts looked vulnerable all night long. The home side looked pretty lame tonight, maybe still smarting over that drubbing on Saturday but there really were there for the taking and pretty much trying to hit on the break. Hibs looked dangerous but like i said the good things we did didn't get the required outcome. On the bright side some of those Hibs players/new additions are starting to find their feet. There were some really good passages of play but as mentioned just too much of a rush when calmer heads may have delivered the 3 points we deserved.

I’ve not seen a replay of the pen but it looked a stonewaller. I thought he blocked him with his thigh.

If that’s Boyle he gets booked and you lot scream diver.
Just home and no Jambo I’ve seen thinks it’s a pen.
Var even told Clancy to check and the corrupt ref still gives it, 3 weeks in a row we have been screwed by officials costing us 4pts yes I’m pished and soaked and pissed off.
